Canon ink jet printers that use type PGI-1400 ink tanks require only four color units (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). The print head is pre-installed in the printer, and the four ink tanks contain pigment ink. All PGI-1400 ink tanks require a chip for correct printer operation.
